I had somehow linked my C4380 & B110a printers, so that if I sent an item to print on the C4380 it actually printed on the B110. I uninstalled the C4380 totally, and then tried to re-install it. No joy. The B110 is working fine.
I am using Windows 10 home, and it was working fine before I messed it up. It is well out of warranty, so I have had no reply from HP's specialists, even though I explained everything to them.
I presume that there is a simple explanation, but if someone out there can help me, please please do so. The printer works (or should that be worked) too well to just get rid of it. I still have the original disc.

Hi @StevieB3081,
I read the quick response. Brilliant effort, great troubleshooting and persistence displayed to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂
Please perform these steps.
Please restart the computer first.
Then perform these steps.
- Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
- Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
- Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
- Click on print server properties.
- You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there, if any.
- Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
- Restart the PC.
- Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
- Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
- It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
- If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
- You could ignore the Regedit step if it is not possible to do it.
- Restart the PC again.
- Download the latest full feature driver from www.hp.com/drivers and install it on the computer.
- Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
- Or use the link from my previous post to download the full feature software and reinstall it. this should do the trick for you.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂

Hi @StevieB3081,
Good Day. Thank you for stopping by the HP forums. I reviewed the post regarding printing issues. I will be glad to assist you here. 🙂
Superb description and splendid diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
I would require more information regarding this.
Please explain the situation in detail?
- Are you trying to print from the all-in-one or B110?
- Do you want to use the HP C4380 on windows 10 now?
- Are both printers working correctly?
- You could have both printers installed on the computer.
- You just need to select the printer to print from when you need to print and the print job goes to the selected printer.
For a start, I am assuming that the B110 works fine and is installed.
So please uninstall the drivers for HP C4380 by following these steps:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Then reinstall the full feature software from this link and check if this does the trick for you. Please select the correct operating system before doing it.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please. Please note that I am not overloading you with a lot of troubleshooting steps.
Instead, just like you, I am eager to ensure that the problem gets resolved. So I am providing you with more resources and information at your disposal to deal with the situation better.

DavidSMP. I have tried your very helpful suggestion, but when I get to Print server properties, and locate the HP Photosmart C4380, and I click on it, it goes to the 'Remove Driver Package ' window, I follow the instructions and select remove 'driver and pckage', it comes back with a message, as follows: 'Failed to rmove driver HP Photosmart C4380 series. The specified printer driver is currently in use. Failed to remove package prnhp003.inf. Driver package in use. [This printer is switched on, but not connected to the laptop, even though the blue 'wireless' light is on!]
Does this mean because I somehow connected the B110a with the C4380, that it is still reading the B110a drivers? If so, do I need to remove all the drivers etc. for the B110a as well?
Any furthr help you can give would be great.

David,
No matter what I try from what you have sent me, I cannot get the C4380 to totally uninstall, or to re-install, so I think it will have to be replaced. Thanks for trying. I will mark up your post as a thanks - it is not your fault, there is obviously a glitch somewhere in the system.

Hi @StevieB3081,
I thank you greatly for accepting this as a solution. I genuinely hope the unit works great and stays healthy for a long time to come. It has been an absolute privilege to have shared this platform with you.
You've done some commendable troubleshooting, displayed great attitude and resolve to try and get the issue fixed. Kudos to you for that.
Please try these steps.
Please uninstall the printer from the steps given above.
- Then create a new local administrator user account.
- Login with the new user account and try to install the printer software after downloading it from the Hp support site.
- Please find check this link out: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/My-HP-Officejet-4632-will-not-print-I-can-scan-with-... It gives you information on how to create a new account and install the printer drivers.
- Of course, the printer here is a different printer but the customer had similar problems and it resolved it for the customer.
- You need to choose your own printer software and download it from the HP support site to install it after selecting the correct operating system.
