Hp LaserJet Pro MFP m28w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have problem. The previous IT-admin left the company and I don't know the admin's password.

Could you send me instructions on how to reset the printer settings to default values?

Hi @Korprinty,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28 printer settings to their default values, you can follow these steps.

  1. Turn on the printer and wait until it is in a ready state.
  2. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button for about 10 seconds until the Attention light starts flashing.
  3. Release the Resume/Cancel button and press it four times in a row. The Attention light should start flashing again.
  4. Release the Resume/Cancel button once again, and the printer will reset to its default settings.

Note that this process will reset all printer settings, including network settings and password. So, if you have set a password for your printer, you will need to set it up again after the reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
