When i change toner (HP orginal toners) the printer say "supply problem". I think it is the latest firmware. According to independent webb you have to downgrade to older firmware. There i no information about that i HP:s webb.

              Hello dickarne,

TRY THE FIXES BELOW.  You need to downgrade your firmware and HP refuses to help.  Support is completely unhelpful and they say they don't have access to the older firmware.  HP broke our printers with an update and now they tell us there is no fix!?!  Unacceptable.  Shame on you HP.  I will not be buying an HP again.

Steps:

  • on the printer, go into the printer’s Setup | Service | LaserJet Update | Manage Updates
    • set Allow Downgrade = yes, Allow Updates = yes
  • download ( HP_LaserJet_Pro_M280_M281_Printer_series_20200612 ) and run
  • Point that to your printer, mine took few times since my printer connected wifi. (If wifi does not work, use a USB printer cable to direct connect the printer.)
  • After downgrade
  • on the printer, go into the printer’s Setup | Service | LaserJet Update | Manage Updates
    • set Allow Updates = no ( so the firmware doesn’t auto-update again  and break compatibility again!)
    • (also check the other options, like ‘prompt before install’)
