I am having problems setting up the printer. When my laptop searches for the printer all the printers that come up say direct on them. However the online setup says not to choose any printer in the list with direct on it. I have tried downloading the printer driver from the hp website and also turned off my firewall as I have windows 10 and the help says this may cause a problem. However I still cannot find my printer or install it. There is no USB cable with the printer. Any ideas what I can do? Many thanks

Hi @KIRSTY716
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printer setup.
To better assist you - What's the status of the Wi-Fi LED on the printer - solid or blinking? Blinking LED indicates the printer is not connected and you may try these steps to connect the printer -
1. Connect the printer using the Wireless Direct. Please refer to page#65 from the User Manual for steps.
2. Open the browser and in the address or the URL bar type this - 192.168.223.1 to launch the EWS or the printer's page.
3. Go to the network tab > Wireless (802.11) and click on the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Once the printer is connected, the Wi-Fi LED on the printer will become solid.
If the issue still persists, try these steps to re-install the printer driver -
1. In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2. Look for HP Printer software.
3. Right-click to uninstall.
4. In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5. In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6. Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7. Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8. Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9. Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10. Select Ok.
11. Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12. Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13. Restart the computer.
14. Download and install the software and drivers from here for Windows 10 (64-bit).
15. Click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
