HP Smart Tank 5106 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI,

I 'm trying to install my new Smart Tank 5106 but can't get remote printing to work. Also it also only works from my pc if I'm either cabled or directly on the wifi - I usually use ethernet for my pc for stability 🙂

What's even more strange is, that when I ask the "print and scan doctor" it shows everything working perfectly and  even prints testpage, but the moment I try to print a normal doc I get an error that it can't be printed and to check printer status - the printer status is "unknown" in HP Smart, and I guess that may be the problem, but have no idea how to fix it.

Any help greatly appreciated 🙂

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with printing wirelessly on your printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
