Hi @Elliotoliver200,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you’re having issues with the HP DeskJet 2700e driver on your Lenovo laptop, and I’ll help you get this sorted.

1. Download the Correct Driver (Official HP Source)

The driver for the HP DeskJet 2700e must be downloaded from HP’s official driver page. HP confirms this is the correct and updated source.

Download link (Official HP page)

HP DeskJet 2700e Series – Software & Drivers
👉HP DeskJet 2700e All-in-One series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Steps:

  1. Scroll to Identify your OS → Select Windows 11 (most Lenovo laptops run Win 11).
  2. Download the Full Feature Software and Driver Package.
  3. Run the downloaded installer.
  4. Follow the on‑screen instructions and restart your laptop.

2. Common Lenovo Driver Installation Issues (and Fixes)

Driver problems on Lenovo systems often occur due to corrupted drivers, Windows updates, or leftover older HP drivers, as documented in troubleshooting guides.

Fix them like this:

✔ A. Remove old/conflicting HP printers

  1. Go to Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners
  2. Remove ALL old HP printers
  3. Restart laptop

✔ B. Clear Print Spooler

This fixes “offline” or “won’t detect printer” issues.

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc
  2. Find Print Spooler → Right‑click → Restart

✔ C. Install all Windows Updates

Missing updates can block driver installation.

3. If Installation Still Fails

Try these fixes:

✔ A. Use HP Smart App Setup

HP Smart can auto‑install the correct driver

✔ B. Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall

HP notes firewalls can block printer detection.

✔ C. Install using USB first

  1. Connect the printer via USB
  2. Install driver
  3. After installation → switch to Wi‑Fi

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
