According to the Microsoft App Store a new version of the HP app was pushed (122.3.838.0). Previously the app was running perfectly. Now when I start the app I get the blue spinning circle for 2 minutes when it used to come up almost instantaneously. Also clicking on the Instant Ink tile no longer works. Indicates no internet connection even though the pc is connected and everything else works fine. I can access my HP Account Dashboard thru the HP app just fine so obviously there is an internet connection. Rebooted the pc. Uninstalled and reinstalled the HP app. Restarted the printer. No difference. Running the HP app and connecting to the same printer using my iPad or iPhone still works fine.
You have problems HP, can you please get them fixed.

The problem lasted all day but apparently whatever was screwed up with the connections in the HP cloud has now been corrected. The HP App Windows app now seems to work and clicking on the Instant Ink tile is working again as well. I understand mistakes do get made but I'm sure glad I'm not counting on the HP cloud for my business!

One additional update. Clicking on the “print plans” tile using the HP Smart app on either my iPad or iPhone results in a error message - Error There was a problem connecting with the server. Please try again later. - glad this is a personal printer and I’m not trying to use it to run a business. HP really needs to get this stuff ironed out.
