Recently, I got a problem with printing. I have a LaserJet MFP M140, bought it from garage sale like 2-3 years ago. I was working perfectly fine, until like 2 month ago, I saw that on my app, I got an HP+ for some reason, so I just stuck with it. Then 2 weeks ago, after I updated the app, it dissapeared, and after that I had a problem, printer wouldn't print at all. I checked the app, and it says that there are some problem with account and it won't print until the issue is resolved. Well, I go to my profile on website, and everything is perfectly fine, like there are no issues. Who do I solve it, I really need that printer.
P. S. I also have 2 friends that use it and they have it as their device, maybe one of them accidentely activated HP+

Hi @liuba2909
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. We'd hate for you to be stuck in a situation like this. Because you matter to us.
Not to worry I'll do everything I can to help get this sorted for you.
Please follow the below steps to resolve the issue:
Ensure that your printer is connected to internet.
Open the HP Smart app on your computer/ laptop, if the printer is not added, please click on add the printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
Once done, from HP Smart, select your printer, and then click or tap Advanced Settings
If the web browser displays a message indicating that the website is unsafe, select the option to continue. Accessing the website will not harm your device.
● If prompted, enter the default user name and password of the printer.
– User Name: admin
– Password: Open the cartridge access door, and see the label inside the printer
On the System tab, click Service.
In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore Defaults button
The printer automatically restarts
This would remove any incorrect firmware updates from the printer and would put the printer in setup mode.
Once the printer is back on, disconnect the USB. Ethernet cable, uninstall and reinstall the HP smart app, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
Please let me know, if you come across any concerns, I will assist you further and will have that sorted as well.
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

You are very welcome @liuba2909
You're very welcome—I'm thrilled to hear that reinstalling the app on your PC resolved the issue and your LaserJet MFP M140 is printing again!
It’s great that your phone connection stayed intact too. That suggests the account sync was mostly affected on the desktop side, likely due to the HP+ activation and app update sequence. You handled it perfectly.
If you ever notice the HP+ status reappearing or printing restrictions returning, feel free to reach out. I’ll be right here to help you keep things running smoothly.
Wishing you many hassle-free prints ahead!
Take care, and stay fantastic!
Regards,
