HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw

To whom it may concern:

I recently updated my desktop computer to Windows 11 and the scanning software that came with my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225w is no longer connecting to my MFP.  Please advise me if there are plans in the works to update the driver for my MFP to be compatible with Windows 11 or if I need to replace my MFP.

Thank you!

Hello @Opinionated1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
  2. Restart the PC
  3. Close all programs
  4. download only this complete package: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225-M226 Printer Full Software and Drivers
  5. Close all programs
  6. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE,
    File name: HPHP_LJ_Pro_MFP_M225-M226_Full_Solution_22051.exe
    (124.9 MB)
  7. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  8. Restart the System again
  9. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

Kind Regards

@Andr-1611 Here are 2 screenshots that I took of Error messages that I receive when trying to use my scanner or printer.  My device is on, and I have reset the device and my wireless access point to see if that resolves the issue but to no success.  Sadly, the only way that I can scan documents now is if I use the Scan-to-USB on my MFP.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!  Even if things don't work out the way that I wanted them to, I want to let the community know that you all are the best!

Your model is not listed as fully supported in the HP Windows 11 device list. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4839960-4840167-16

Printing is listed as supported on support.hp.com but no mention of scanning. I suggest that you might want to try the universal twain scan package https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SJ0001/MFPs/Full_Webpack-51.10.6089-SJ0001_Full_W... but no guarantees.

deactivate WLAN and WiFi.
Connect the printer via a USB cable.

Is the printer recognized?
