I have an HP Envy6120e used with my iMac. The iMac operating system is Mac OS sequoia version 15.6,1. Ie it is up to date.

i can’t seem to identify or even complete the information you require to get this irritating, and I gather common problem  sired. I am fed up with having to switch off and then turn back on the powered supply as the access to the back of my printer is difficult

Hi @Robertmn1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing connectivity issues with your HP Envy 6120e printer on your iMac using macOS 15.6.1 (macOS Sequoia), and finding it inconvenient to manually reset the power, follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Check Network Connection:
    • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iMac.
    • Verify the network connection status on the printer's control panel and make sure it's active and stable.

  2. Update Printer Software:
  3. Reset Printing System:
    • On your iMac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Right-click in the list of printers (or Control-click if you’re using a one-button mouse) and select Reset printing system....
    • This action will remove the printer and any pending jobs from the list and allow you to reinstall the printer.

  4. Re-add Your Printer:
    • After resetting, click the + button to re-add your HP Envy 6120e.
    • Select your printer from the list and click Add.

  5. Use HP App:
  6. Energy Settings:
    • Check the printer’s energy-saving settings. Navigate the printer control panel to ensure settings like "Auto-Off" or "Sleep" mode do not interfere with its availability when needed.

  7. Printer Diagnostics:
    • Run the printer's internal diagnostics tool to check for any printer hardware issues that may not be visible otherwise.

  8. Physical Accessibility:
  • If accessing the back of the printer is challenging and power cycling is frequently required, consider breaking out the power supply to a more accessible location using an extension or rearranging the setup for ease.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
