I have the office jet all in one 8600 and since upgrading to Tahoe 26.2 immediately the image capture scanning stopped working.  The printing function works fine just not scanning.  I can't seem to find the driver upgrade for the printer on the hp website, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  It is connected wirelessly.

I just found out that the 8600 does not support Tahoe 26.2. so unless HP provides updated drivers which they currently do not for macs  you must your the HP app for scanning.( which I personally do not like)  You can find this info by holding down the option key, then on the apple, system information, then printers.  You will see that scanning is "not supported" nor  is "sharing" for your current version.

Thanks HP

Hi @dmorator,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that the issue is still not fixed.

Thank you for reaching out. After the recent update from HP Smart to the new HP app the older HP Smart scanning components were replaced. I would request you to please check with the below steps which should fix the issue.

Use AirPrint for Scanning

  • If the HP app still fails, add the printer using AirPrint:
  • System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer.
  • Select your printer and choose AirPrint as the driver.
  • Then try scanning via Preview or Image Capture.

 Install the New HP App

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!
