Thank you for your response, however I have tried that (several times) and the results are the same. For some reason HP Smart ia looking for my HP+ Account, which is alive and active, but then returns to the home screen. This also occurs if I try the Create a new HP account option.

Where do you advise that we could ask the main questions... like these two:
1) Why does the Deskjet 2622 Printer suddenly require that we install the app for HP Install? Is there a notice, or blog, which addresses that question?
2) Why is the current HP end-user license agreement for HP Smart so bloody restrictive, and why does the HP Smart EULA require that the users agree to relinquish most rights to most of our personal information/data? And, no --- don't respond to this question with a lot of "watermelon-talk": we expect a direct answer. Is it because it's more profitable to HP to sell that user data to other "buyers"?
We accept that HP may not authorize you to provide answers for such direct questions. That's why we are asking you to inform us whom we should contact...
