Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you need assistance in resetting your HP Envy printer. No worries, I'll be glad to assist you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
What exactly seems to be an issue with the printer? Is the printer asking for administrator password.
Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?
In the meantime, please follow the instruction on how to perform an advanced reset on the printer. Doing this will set the printer back to the factory settings.
I'm going to send you the instructions in a private message as these details are specific to your printer model.
Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,
Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
I hope this helps resolve this issue completely,
Regards,

@jeet_singh,
We (the internet) appreciate the discretion support needs to have to not advertise incorrect information, however the OP supplied the model number for their printer. "HP ENVY 5540" and asked for instructions for how to execute a hard reset. As part of my own troubleshooting, and I'm sure many others, would find that information helpful.
Can you link or describe the procedure for a hard reset of an HP ENVY 5540?
