But I can not establish wireless connection to the printer despite the printer is visible wireless from the computer:

Finally there is no more progress and HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.7.3 has to be finished using the task manager:

I am addressing HP, not the person who helped me.

When I bought the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw the first thing I remember were troubles installing the HP Software. It was just terrible and unbelievably time consuming. What I should have done should have been to bring the MFP M281fdw back to the dealer and get my money back and that should have been it. And now I have trouble again.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw is configured to use a WSD port, which loads automatically when a MFP is located on the network. Wireless printing and wireless scanning is only possible with the HP Software which only installs for wireless connection if the MFP uses the WSD port. Since using the WSD port fails I can not use the HP Software for wirelessly printing and wirelessly scanning.

OK: I can create a TCP/IP port in Windows (wireless only) and print wirelessly. And I can scan using USB connection. But this was not my intention when I bought the MFP M281fdw to be used solely with wireless connection.

My conclusion is: My next MFP will be NO HP product.

I assigned the IP Address 192.168.178.88 to the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw and established a wireless  connection to the printer. But I can not scan wireless.
