Hey HP, this is an issue that came up in Jan-Feb 2026. We need a fix. Presently I am having to copy and past into Word, save as a pdf, and do other program acrobatics to print. My HP6000 receives the file, does the printing warmup routine, and then cancels the print when I attempt to print directly from Chrome. Instead of blaming the user or making us fix this, perhaps YOU could contact Google's programmers and work directly with them to fix this issue. This way it can be corrected faster and cuts out the middleman. FYI - I did try the Chrome extension and that did nothing.

Hi @135boom,

Thank you for the response.

Let’s try a few deeper steps that have helped in similar cases:

Clear Windows Print Spooler

Sometimes jobs get >stuck or corrupted:

  1. Press Win + R > type services.msc
  2. Find Print Spooler
  3. Right-click > Stop

Go to:

  1. Delete all files in that folder
  2. Go back > Start the Print Spooler

Switch Driver Type

If you're using a full-feature or PCL driver, try switching:

  • Remove current printer from Devices and Printers
  • Re-add printer using:
    • HP Universal Print Driver (UPD PCL6) OR
    • Class Driver / IPP driver (Windows built-in)

Many Chrome-related issues resolve when using IPP or UPD instead of model-specific drivers.

Test Printing as PDF First (Isolation Step)

  • In Chrome > Print > Destination > Save as PDF
  • Then print the PDF using:
    • Adobe Acrobat or Edge

If PDF prints fine > issue is strictly the Chrome-to-printer pipeline.

C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

After many attempts, adding the printer manually using IPP finally worked!  After months of various patchwork hacks.
