Hi.
I would like to re-run the setup wizard on an HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile. Reason is that I made a mistake while configuring it the first time and would like to run the wizard again.
Thanks.

For some unknown reason, network capabilities were disabled when I initially ran the configuration wizard. I'm not sure how this happened. I've spent hours trying to figure out how to re-enable them, but even with the HP Smart app, I can't seem to reverse the setting.
When I navigate to the Advanced Settings and go to the Wireless section, clicking the Wireless Setup Wizard button displays an error message: "You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer."
I'm confident this setting isn't permanent, so could someone please guide me on how to run the wizard again or re-enable the wireless capabilities?
Currently, the printer is unusable, and I haven't been able to print anything with it.

@michelpic, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Hi! Thanks for the detailed message — and I totally get how frustrating this must be, especially when you just want to get your printer working and everything keeps blocking you.
Restore Network Settings to Default
Power on your printer.
On the printer's touchscreen, tap the Home icon if you're not already on the main screen.
Tap the Setup icon (it looks like a gear ⚙️).
Scroll down and select Network Setup.
Look for Restore Network Defaults or Restore Defaults and tap it.
Confirm if prompted.
Full Factory Reset
If the network reset doesn't do the trick, you might need to do a factory reset, which reverts the entire printer to its default out-of-box state. This is usually hidden behind a special button combo:
⚠️ Caution: This will wipe all settings, scan logs, and stored faxes, so only do this if nothing else works.

Reconnect Using HP Smart App
Once the printer restarts:
Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.
Click Add Printer and follow the steps to connect to your printer via Bluetooth or USB temporarily.
Then configure the Wi-Fi network again.
Make sure you're on the same network as your printer during setup.

I hope this helps.

Hello,
Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, the issue persists. I have already attempted a factory reset (and tried it again just now) using the printer's touch screen. However, after the printer reboots, the configuration wizard does not reappear, and the wireless icon remains absent from the dashboard.
I have also attempted to enable the Connectivity features from the Administrator Settings section. I noticed that all the Connectivity features are unchecked. When I try to enable them by checking the Connectivity checkbox and clicking Apply, the screen indicates that the settings were updated successfully. Unfortunately, when I return to the feature list, the Connectivity section is unchecked again.

Hey @michelpic,
Thank you for your response
Let's try this:
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
If the printer is connected via USB, you might still be able to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) — this is where deeper administrative settings are often stored.
To access EWS:
Connect the printer to your PC via USB.
Open HP Smart and go to Printer Settings.
Locate the Advanced Settings — this should open a web browser and take you to the printer’s Embedded Web Server.
Go to Settings > Security > Administrator Settings.
Ensure connectivity, wireless, and web services are all enabled.
If they appear unchecked, check them again, click Apply, and wait — then reboot the printer.
Let me know what happens after you try the above step.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello, thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, that solution did not work. As I mentioned in my previous message, I am enabling all connectivity features, but they revert to being unchecked after I receive a confirmation message. Restarting the printer after enabling these features does not resolve the issue, and the wireless icon remains absent from the printer's display.
Thank you in advance for your help.
