My HP8625 printer dropped off the wireless network and I have not made any changes. When I try to reconnect to the WiFi, it fails, the wireless network test report printout states the diagnostic results: No Filtering : FAIL, which indicates my Router is filtering the HP MAC address and preventing it to register as a device in the Router.  As a matter of fact, it is the only active device on my home network not registering.

I’ve checked my Verizon FioS Quantum Router, and clearly MAC filtering is off. I’ve tried cold booting my HP8625 printer and Router without success in connecting. The 802.11 radio is set to the default allowing all technologies to connect. I noticed in the HP Printer Support page that other HP printer owners experienced the same issue.

Please help!

I suspect a firmware change was automatically made that changed the Printer software environment causing this failure.  The only difference I can see from a printer WiFi diagnostic page a year apart is the Firmware version (from FDP1CN1910AR to FDP1CN2022AR) change.

maybe the solution is to “roll back” the firmware.

can anyone help?

Thank you,

Howard

Welcome to the HP support community.

1. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

Set up the printer on your wireless network using Wireless Setup Wizard.

1. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.

2. Touch Network Setup.

3. Touch Wireless Settings.

4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.

5. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
