I am using the HP Envy Pro6400...Printer is working fine. I am trying to get the printer to show up in the account section of my HP Smart app. The app is recognizing the printer and I can print/scan/fax just fine on this printer through the app - it's the account section? How do I add it there? Ultimately, I want to remote print, I understand that it needs to be in my account to do so.

Hi @Krasavitz,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To get your HP Envy Pro 6400 printer to show up in the account section of the HP Smart app and enable remote printing, you need to make sure that your printer is properly connected to your HP account. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Ensure HP Smart App is Updated
Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device.
2. Sign In to HP Account
- Open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Sign in to your HP account by tapping the Account icon (usually a person or user icon) in the app.
3. Add Printer to HP Account
- Open HP Smart App:
- On your mobile device or computer, open the HP Smart app.
- Sign In:
- Ensure you are signed in to your HP account within the app.
- Add Your Printer:
- If your printer is already recognized by the app and you can print/scan/fax, it means your printer is connected to the app.
- Add Printer to HP Account:
- In the HP Smart app, go to the Account section.
- Look for an option to add a printer to your HP account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP Envy Pro 6400 to your HP account. This usually involves verifying your printer’s email address and setting up HP ePrint or similar services.
Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Please find the next set of steps below.
4. Enable Remote Printing
- HP Smart Dashboard:

- Web Services:
- Ensure Web Services are enabled on your printer. This is necessary for remote printing. You can do this from the printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app.
- Enable ePrint:
- Enable HP ePrint. This feature allows you to print remotely by sending an email to your printer’s unique email address.
- In the HP Smart app, navigate to the settings or printer options and look for HP ePrint.
- Follow the instructions to enable and configure ePrint.
5. Verify Printer Status
- HP Connected Account:
- Log in to your HP Connected account (www.hpconnected.com) to verify that your printer is listed under your devices.
- Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer status shows as connected and online.
6. Print Remotely
- Remote Printing:
- Once everything is set up, you can print remotely by sending documents to your printer’s email address.
- HP Smart App:
- You can also use the HP Smart app to send print jobs to your printer even when you are not on the same network.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Re-add Printer: If the printer does not appear in your HP account, try removing and re-adding the printer in the HP Smart app.
- Restart Devices: Restart your printer, router, and the device with the HP Smart app.
- Network Connection: Ensure your printer and the device with the HP Smart app are on the same network during the setup process.
