Hi @steveclark,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To recover the password for your HP Envy 6000e printer, you can follow these steps.

Find the Default Wi-Fi Direct Password

  1. Locate the Information Sheet:
    • On your printer, press and hold the Information button (i) until all the buttons light up.
    • Press the Information button (i) again to print an Information Sheet.
    • The Wi-Fi Direct password should be listed on this sheet.

Print the Network Configuration Page

  1. Print the Network Configuration Page:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Information buttons together until the printer prints a Network Configuration Page.
    • Look for the Wi-Fi Direct section, where you’ll find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

Reset the Printer Network Settings

Reset the Network Settings:

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (or Wireless button) on your printer for about 5-10 seconds or until the light starts blinking.
  • This will reset the network settings, including the Wi-Fi Direct password to the default.

Reconnect the Printer:

  • You can now use the default password found on the Information Sheet or Network Configuration Page to reconnect your devices.

If you've customized the password and can't recover it, you may need to reset the printer to factory settings and set up the Wi-Fi connection again using the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
