Regarding about need support for install HP Laserjet 1020 series in Macbook Air 2017

Hi SIR,

I  having a HP laserjet 1020 and having issues to communicate with my laptop macbook air . See the observations which i had done thru connecting the communications cable

1. when i able to see the dropdown in printer selections

2. but the print is not working as expected.. No print is completed ( document being sent from system) 

3. I am not able to download the driver for this HP printer

4. Pls share the driver to communicate and print the papers.

I understand how frustrating it must feel when your LaserJet 1020 shows up but just won’t print. Let’s walk through this together:

Driver support – The LaserJet 1020 is an older printer and HP doesn’t provide dedicated drivers for newer macOS versions. That’s why you’re not finding a direct download.

Workaround – On macOS, you can try using the Apple Software Update feature. When you add the printer, your Mac will attempt to download a compatible driver (sometimes called a Gutenprint or generic PostScript driver).

Steps to try:

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners

Click the + button to add your printer

If you see HP LaserJet 1020 or Generic PostScript Printer, select it

If not, choose Use: Generic PostScript / PCL Driver
