HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Good evening,

This is my second post on this subject as the first was marked as spam for some reason. 😞

Very grateful if someone from HP support on this forum can assist me to change the region codes on my HP 7740 printer (Thailand). The printer currently uses 955 cartridges made for the Thai market. I would like to change the coding to use UK 953 Cartridges. From reading previous posts on this subject,  I must access a special toolbox menu by pressing control, shift and right click on the ink level indicators within the toolbox. A window appears that displays the printer and cartridge information. At the bottom of this window there are five boxes each numbered 41,42,43,44,45. HP support will provide with a specific code for each box. once this is satisfied a code appears in a box numbered 51.

I've tried to seek assistance through HP's online support chat and  been passed to around 10 different support handlers who can't help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi @UdonChris

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. We'd hate for you to be stuck in a situation like this. Because you matter to us.

You are absolutely correct, if the printer will be used in a different region from where it was originally bought and used, we need to perform some changes called a regional reset for your printer; only after that will you be able to use the printer with the current region's ink cartridges.

I will be glad to assist you with the regional reset on your printer.

In order for me to perform the reset, I need few details which cannot be shared in public.

I'm sending you a private message to guide you on the next steps.

To access it, click the private message icon in the upper-right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your name.

If this resolves your issue, kindly mark this post as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" if it was helpful.

Take care and have a great day!
