Unable to register the printer to your account

This printer is associated with another account. You can use this printer and the HP app to print, scan, copy, and more, but you will not have access to cloud features like Print Anywhere.

HP will provide information in the future when you can request access to use cloud features of this printer.

If you're receiving an error indicating that your HP DeskJet 2821e is associated with another account, preventing access to cloud features like "Print Anywhere," here are steps you can take to resolve the issue.

 

Verify Ownership:

  • If you have previously registered the printer with a different HP account, try logging in with that account.

Contact Previous Owner:

  • If you acquired the printer second-hand, contact the previous owner to request they remove the printer from their HP account.

Save the Error Code:

  • Keep a record of the error code (UA_400_EB000U0422), 

Using HP App Features:

  • While resolving the account association issue, you can still use the HP app for printing, scanning, and copying without the cloud features.

Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0422

 

I figured out the solution with no help from HP employees. I tried calling and other support options, but they kept trying to sell me a new computer or charge $20 for “support.” If you’re having this same issue because you have a secondhand printer, listen up.

This only applies if your printer had a previous owner. You must already have the printer set up in the HP app.

 

Scroll down to Printer Settings, select View All, then Advanced Settings.

Click OK, or if it mentions a private connection, continue to the website.

Once on the website, go to Settings, scroll down to Restore Defaults, and select it.

You’ll need the PIN, which should be located on the back of the printer next to the serial number.

Select Start Secure Erase.

After the printer resets, turn it back on.

Remove the device from the HP app, then reinstall the app and reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

Once this process is complete, you should be able to purchase HP Instant Ink.
