I need to register a printer that is a given. It was previously registered under someone else.  Reason I need to register it is so that I can use the instant ink cartridges. However I can't add the printer to my account as it's registered under the old owner still

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

What's the printer model?

Have the printer undergone Factory Reset to resolve the issue?

Different printers have different methods to do a reset, if the printer is connected wirelessly, can try using Embedded Web Server to reset to factory defaults.

Basically, use the IP address of the printer to access the EWS page and do a reset.

Alternatively, if the printer has a Control Panel, can also use that to do a Factory reset (steps would depend on what is the priner model)

Hope that helps!
