HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

When changing the IP of my HP 6400 ENVY printer, I regrettable and without actually  reading the disclaimer I accepted the HP+, and instant Ink.
I have never used any of the services, or Ink. But now I have found, that by accepting HP+, I can ONLY use HP original Ink cartridges.
I regret so terrible that I did not investigate further, what HP+ was.
My question, is there a way to get out of the HP+ "program", so as I can use "compatible"  Ink cartridges, not from HP ?

When I called HP they said my printer was out of warranty so it would cost me $19.95 to troubleshoot to see if they could remove it from my account.

Seems like a deceptive way for HP to get some money for a printer that is worth less than $60 and I know it is not my fault for not reading the pages of small print for the terms and conditions but it should be a simple task to remove this from my account.   I tried resetting to factory default and reinstall but not luck and  HP customer service was not helpful at all.  Anyone have any ideas?
