Hi all,
I got a hp 7858 for a while, and can't afford hp ink carriage anymore. I purchased some 3rd-party ink and tried it today. Unfortunately, hp kept informed that the ink carriage "are not communicated" with the printer. I followed all the steps I could find on the internet, from factory resetting, unplugging cable, to clean the ink carriage itself, but nothing work.
I found a post on this forum said that it's because my printer has activated HP+ program, which can't be deactivated or removed. They were able to get a replaced printer.
I tried to contact hp, and they said my printer is out of warranty, and tons of other things just to push me to use hp ink carriages. I am so regretting buying hp printer, not one, but two (I recommended the other for my family member).
I feel so stupid buying this printer. I might trash the printer, but since it still working well, I want to ask if there is any solution you might know to help removing HP+ or how to use 3rd-party ink carriage? Tha

Hi @SofiP,
Welcome to the HP Support Community

You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.
There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
