HP LaserJet 4001
macOS 12.0 Monterey

FYI - using macOS 14.4.1 Sonoma - wasn't an option

I no longer own this HP LaserJet 4001 and can't remove it from my HP Smart App on my MacBook computer.  It is removed from my Printers & Scanners in System Settings.
I just want to delete it as a printer in this App and I can't seem to find any way to do this.

See screenshots attached.

Hi @dgreensp71,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To remove a printer from the HP Smart app on your macOS 14.4.1 Sonoma, you can follow these general steps. Please note that specific instructions can slightly vary depending on the app version, but this should guide you through:

Open the HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart application on your MacBook.

Select the Printer: If the HP LaserJet 4001 is still showing in the HP Smart app, you should see it listed on the main screen or within the 'My Printers' section. Click on it to select it.

Access Printer Settings: Look for a settings icon, gear icon, or an option labeled 'Printer Settings' or similar. This is often found either directly in the main dashboard or under a menu within the printer-specific screen.

Remove or Delete the Printer: Within the printer settings menu, look for an option to 'Remove', 'Delete', or 'Forget' the printer. This option may be in a submenu like 'Advanced Settings', 'Tools', or 'Manage Printers'.

Confirm the Deletion: You may need to confirm that you want to remove the printer from the app. Follow any prompts to finalize the removal.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
