Hi! When I setup my moms printer (HP 6200 something) I got the option to name the printer. We came up with a funny name and that was it, no fuzz about it. I’ve bought my own printer and I wanna give it a name! Did not get the option when setting it up and can’t see where I can change it? I’m not talking about on my own computer, I know how to change it in windows, but how the printer appears to everyone- in the HP app, to a new computer/phone etc. I don’t get how it was so easy with one printer but completely impossible with this?

@VildeM, Welcome to HP Support Community!

You should also be able to change the printer name in the EWS.

If you enter the printer IP address in your browser and select the device information section you should be able to change the name.

Also, you can do this-

Open HP Smart

Click Settings wheel to open the Settings menu

Under section Printers

Select Add / Set Up a Printer

Under section (in the left column) Options

     Select Rename My Printer

Remove (erase) the old printer name

Enter the name of the printer as you want to see it

Click Save

Once you rename the printer, you may have to reconnect the devices.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
