Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hiya,

I purchased my printer (envy 6000 series) in the UK (and also with instant ink subscription). I have moved to the Netherlands. So I'm cancelling my UK subscription and will start a Dutch one.

However, my HP smart account is set to be in the UK and I can't change it. It looks like I'll need to do a region reset before I could subscribe in the Netherlands and start using the ink cartridges here.

Could anyone please send me instructions to do the reset?

Thanks

I have asked a Moderator to help connect you with a Service Engineer who can assist you with the region change request.

I had a similar experience with Smart Ink and it required me to have a new Smart Ink account seperate from my HP signon that I have had for 13 years.

I moved from the Netherlands to the US.

Thank you very much!

I do find it a bit frustrating after contacting HP support UK and then HP support Germany (as instructed by UK custom service).

Looking forward to hearing from a Service Engineer.

Please let me know if contact does not happen within this week.

I can ask again for you to perhaps escalate the issue.

I know you need your printer.

Thank you very much! I haven't heard from any admin yet but it's just Thu 🙂

We're going to be away this weekend, but hopefully can get things sorted soon!

Hi Erico, I don't seem to have got any contact from admin so far - would be really grateful if you could escalate this for me, as my current subscription is due to expire very soon 🙂

Thanks

Hi @MiaFey

Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

* To change the country/region for a printer in Instant Ink, add the printer to a different HP account that is in the desired country/region.
* Cancel the original Instant Ink account to prevent continued billing. Enrolling the printer in a new account does not automatically delete the old account.

Step 1: Cancel your HP instant ink account for the old country.
Please follow the steps listed below to cancel your HP instant ink account:
1. Go to http://hpinstantink.com/signin (the HP Connected website) to sign in to your HP Instant Ink account, if you are not signed in already.
Your HP Instant Ink account page opens.
2. In the Status area of your HP Instant Ink account page, a printer drop-down menu is available when there are multiple printers enrolled. Click the drop-down menu, and then select the printer you want to cancel.
3. Check the Print History or the ePrint address of the printer to confirm you have selected the correct printer.
4. In the My Account area, click Change Plan.
5. Click Cancel Enrollment.
6. Click Next, and then Cancel Enrollment to confirm your cancellation request.

You receive an email confirmation of the cancellation. The cancellation finalizes at the end of the current billing cycle when the final charge processes successfully.
You will not be able to print using the HP instant ink cartridges after the billing cycle ends.

You can refer to this document for reference: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03767641

Step 2: Enroll to instant ink in the new country.
Please follow the steps listed below to enroll the printer to instant ink:
1. Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/subscriptions and click on the sign-in option.
2. In the Status area of your HP Instant Ink account page, click Enroll
3. Choose one of the available plans other than the 15-page plan.
4. Click Add Printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to HP Instant Ink.
5. If the printer appears but is listed as offline, make sure it is connected and online, and then click Try again.
6. On the Shipping page, enter the address which you would like HP to ship your Instant Ink cartridges to, then click Save & Continue.
7. On the Billing Information page, enter a prepaid key or your payment card information, and then click Continue.
8. On the Submit Order page, review your information, type a Special Offers key if you have one, check the box to agree to the Terms of Service, and then click Enroll.

@Rainbow23

I hope it does work for the new member.

In my case, a new HP ID and password were needed to make it work. Now I don't see everything on the HP Smart Ink page in Dutch and all works as expected for both of my printers..

Many thanks for the reply. Sorry for not getting back earlier - my internet at home was down for a couple of days!

I have already cancelled my HP instant ink subscription in the old country. I'm a bit surprised that I can't just change the country of my old account and then enroll for the Netherlands - sort of weird that I need to create a new account for this purpose. I only have one email that I use regularly, and having to set up an HP account using a different email is a bit annoying.

But guess I'll just have to do it!

Thanks 🙂

Hiya, sorry I now ran into some issues when trying to connect my printer to instant ink.

I have a new instant ink account opened, with my Dutch address and phone number.

Now I need to connect my printer to instant ink, and the onscreen instructions asked me to press "i" and print a page with code

But my printer refuses to do so because the cartridges in the printer are those from the UK subscription which are now expired.... It refuses to do anything apart from printing a printer information page.

Do I now have to buy some new cartridges, just so I can print one page that is required for enrolling to instant ink again?? It feels very much defeating the purpose.....Can't I manually connect my printer to instant ink? I can then wait for the welcome pack to arrive before start printing again??

Thanks
