I have already try reinstalling HPLIP etc as guided by HP support but still can't find the relevant printer drivers.

Hi @WINECAVIAR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw printer drivers were removed after a paper jam and you're now unable to reinstall them on Fedora 38. Let's go through some steps to resolve this issue.

1. Ensure HPLIP 3.23.8 is Installed

HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP) version 3.23.8 added support for Fedora 38 and includes drivers for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw. 9to5Linux

To install or verify HPLIP:

sudo dnf install hplip

2. Run the HP Setup Utility

After installing HPLIP, use the hp-setup utility to configure your printer:

hp-setup

This will guide you through the process of adding your printer.

3. Install the HP Plugin

Some HP printers require an additional plugin for full functionality. To install it:

hp-plugin

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

4. Check Printer Status

After installation, verify that your printer is correctly configured:

hp-doctor

This command will check for common issues and suggest fixes.

5. Test Printing and Scanning

Try printing a test page and scanning a document to ensure both functions are working correctly.

I hope this helps.
