Request for HP Smart Tank driver essentials L5_1657 – expired links

Hi,

Could someone please re-upload the HP Smart Tank driver essentials – L5_1657 package?

I have an HP Smart Tank 500 connected via USB to an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS Tahoe 26.6.2.

The printer itself is detected and works over USB, but macOS does not recognize its scanner:

• System Information shows Scanning support: No
• Image Capture does not see the Smart Tank 500
• HP Easy Scan 2.0.0.2 does not see it either
• The scanner hardware itself is working: SANE/hpaio detects the Smart Tank 500 over USB and can scan successfully

I found several recent HP Community threads where L5_1657 was recommended for Smart Tank 500/520-series printers on recent versions of macOS, and users confirmed that it worked. Unfortunately, all the Transfer.it links in those threads have now expired, and the threads are closed.

Could @ferRX or anyone who still has the L5_1657 package please upload it again and post a new link here?

If possible, a permanent download location would be very helpful, since the temporary links seem to expire quickly.

Please install with the next Apple Smart Tank basic driver:

• (1) Connect your printer with USB cable:
• 
• (2) Then install the next software
  • >> HP Smart Tank driver essentials - L5_1657
  •  

• (3) Also you can install HP App for Mac for the scanner option:
