Hi @shbajla

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the situation—switching to a new OS and suddenly losing printer functionality is such a letdown, especially when the printer itself is still going strong.

The HP LaserJet P1007 is known for its compatibility primarily with Windows systems, and drivers for macOS might not be readily available due to the age of the printer and its original design for different platforms. However, here are steps you can take to try and resolve the compatibility issue with macOS Sequoia 15.5: 🖨🍎

Check HP Support Website:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model to see if any drivers compatible with newer versions of macOS have been released.

Use Generic Drivers:

  • macOS often comes with generic printer drivers that can work with many printers.
  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer, then look for your printer in the list. Select it and see if macOS offers a generic or universal driver option.

Third-Party Solutions:

  • If official drivers are not available, consider third-party driver providers like Gutenprint, which might offer compatibility for your printer model on macOS.

Update macOS:

  • Ensure your macOS is fully updated, as updates sometimes improve compatibility with older hardware devices.

Unfortunately, due to the older model of your printer, there might be limitations in support for newer operating systems like macOS Sequoia 15.5. If these options do not work, it might be worth considering an upgrade to a more recent printer model that offers full support for current macOS versions.
