HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M652n

I am trying to update the firmware on my Color LaserJet M652. To do so, I am being asked for an Administrator password to sign in. This printer is in my home office, so as far as I remember, I never set a password. However, leaving the password field blank gets the message that it is an incorrect username, passowrd, etc. I’m wondering how to do a cold reset on this particular printer so that I can reset the password to the factory default. Or alternatively, if the factory default is actually not blank, what it might be.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Tom

Factory default is blank. The easiest method to get around this to update firmware is to do it from the preboot menu. If you go to support.hp.com, look up firmware for your device, when you go to download there is also a readme file for the firmware. In that readme file are the instructions for updating through the preboot menu that does not require a password
