Hi I'm posting this question again. I setup a custom printer password and forgot. In the Printer status report the admin password just shows as "set". I tried the default login of admin and 12345678 but that does not work. 

 

I was able to get the printer back into setup mode. I can open the Hp smart app on my phone and I get prompted to setup a new printer. I select my WiFi and enter the password, then I get prompted for a printer password. Nothing I try works here.

Bump. Is there a way to factory reset my HP Deskjet 3755 to clear the admin password I set?
