Hi @Fezzie66,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you want to reset your HP Laser MFP 135a so it can work again with Windows. Let’s go through a few steps to reset the printer and reinstall it properly.

Perform a basic printer reset
Turn the printer on, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Wait about 60 seconds, reconnect the power cable, and turn the printer back on.

Reinstall the printer driver in Windows
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
Download and install the HP Laser MFP 135a full-feature or basic driver package for Windows from HP Support, then reconnect the USB cable when prompted.

Remove old printer entries from Windows
Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
Right-click any existing HP 135a entries and select Remove device, then restart the computer.

Set the printer as default
After reinstalling, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
Select the printer and click Set as default.

Print a Windows test page
Open Printer Properties → Print Test Page.
This confirms the driver and printer communication are working.

Important note:
The HP Laser MFP 135a does not have a factory reset option from the control panel, so reinstalling the driver and resetting the power connection is the primary way to restore normal operation on Windows.

Also, this model is a USB-only printer, so printing requires a direct USB connection to the computer.

I hope this helps.
