HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer

I have forgotten the PIN on the printer.

On the recommendation of HP Support Desk I have reset the printer 3 times but the user id on the printer for scan is still not cleared.

I say a post on this forum which had the same problem and it says someone from HP were able to help resolve the issue but it does not say what the solution was.

Could anyone help please?

Hello MRGoyal,

With the details provided it is not clear if you are trying to reset some administrator PIN the printer has to gain access to the Embedded Web Server for instance, or if everything works fine but you are trying to resolve some scanning situation.

If your issue is related to scan to email, the recommendation will be to access the Embedded Web Server, going to Scan and then edit the profile for scan to email that is giving you problems.

Thanks for responding.

Yes, when I try to scan to email, the printer gives me a message saying, "To use this feature, sign in first".

There is user icon at the top right hand side of the screen which, when I click it, prompts me to input a PIN. I do not have a PIN.

Is there any way I can retrieve this PIN or reset it?

Thanks again...
