Hello,

We moved wi-fi locations for our HP LaserJet Pro M118dw and I cannot sign into the printer setup because there is a password which we do not recall having set or changed.

The only support option is to request password reset instructions via this forum. I bought the printer new 14 months ago from BestBuy but is no longer supported by HP. Could HP please help.

Hello,

Has anyone successfully reset the password on their HP printer? Before I posted; based on the search of this forum, all responses are only provided in private messages from HP employees. Any help would be appreciated.

@RottenApple, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

To reconfigure the printer, follow the steps from the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

 

Additionally, refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help.

 

If you still have issues, use the guided troubleshooter Troubleshooting | Wireless Printing Center for instruction to isolate and resolve the issue.

Hello, Thanks for your reply. I have tried some of the references that you provided and for the moment we are using a USB connection to print. In our case, the password we are trying to reset is the one that will allow us to sign into the HP printer settings and manage its configuration.  Would you have any direction as to how we can access this portion of the printer? We cannot seem to proceed with the HP software installation until we reset the password. Thanks.

You might have to contact the support team for remote assistance in order to get this fixed. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region for further course of action.

Hello,

I have also attempted to contact HP Support for this product and the only option is to work with the Community. The official HP statement for this product is "This product is no longer serviced by HP. You may search for possible solutions on this support website." If you have another method to contact HP, that would be appreciated. Thanks.
