Hi,
I have installed yesterday my new printer Smart Tank 7305.
After the installation was completed I reviewed the configuration via the HP smart software and ended-up on the integrated Web Server.
Once connected to this integrated web server I changed the default password with a more robust one.
For some reason, I can't connect anymore with this new password whereas it has been managed only through copy/paste so that there is no typo possible. My guess is that this new password has caracters that cannot be managed correctly but yet not rejected when I changed my password.
Anyway I want now to reset this password, looking for the procedure... And here starts the problem, there is nothing allowing on the interface to do so.
After I did some googling I found an input asking to call the client service which sounds already strange just to reset a local password...
I had a technician with me this morning for about 45 minutes and the conclusion is : You cannot reset this password, you have to send the printer back to the seller...
It is a bad dream right ? Do I really have to send my printer back just because there is no way, no tricks, no button combinaition to reset this password ???
Please tell me there is another way...
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @MyGoul ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration. here are some general steps you can try to reset the password on your HP Smart Tank 7305 All-In-One printer:
Factory Reset:
- Check if your printer has a physical reset button. If it does, press and hold it for a few seconds to perform a factory reset.
- Refer to your printer's manual or documentation for information on how to perform a factory reset.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cable from the printer and wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.
Default Credentials:
- Try accessing the web server with the default username and password, as provided in the printer's manual or documentation. Common default credentials are often "admin" for both the username and password.
Community Forums:
- Check HP community forums. Other users may have faced a similar issue and could provide insights or solutions. You can find these forums on the HP website or other tech support communities.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware might resolve the issue and could potentially reset the password.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
