Hi @CottoSolutions ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to reset the admin password on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw printer, follow these steps:

Reset via Printer's Control Panel:

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Home button.
  • Tap Setup (gear icon).
  • Scroll down and select Security.
  • Look for an option like Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings (this may vary depending on the printer's firmware version).
  • Select Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset.

Reset using HP Web Jetadmin:

  • If you have the printer connected to the network, you can also access the printer's web interface by typing the printer’s IP address into a web browser.
  • Once you are on the printer's web interface, navigate to the Security section.
  • There should be an option to reset the admin password or restore factory settings.

Reset using the printer’s Reset function (if no password is set):

  • Turn the printer off and then on while holding the Stop/Cancel button until the printer resets to factory settings.

This process should reset the password, and you will be able to access the admin settings with the default credentials. If the default password is required, it's usually set to:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: (blank, or try "123456")

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
