Hello.
It's been a few days that I'm following all the steps to reset the printer to it's default settings but the admin password (which I forgot) remains always the same.
I need specific instructions on how to reset the admin password. Can anyone please help me?
Thanks

Hi @jarekm6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with resetting the admin password on your HP LaserJet MFP M234dw printer. Unfortunately, there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution for this, as the process can vary depending on the printer model and firmware version. However, I can provide you with some general steps that might help.
Perform a Cold Reset: A cold reset can restore the printer to its factory default settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all customized settings, including the admin password. Here's a general procedure:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Resume button (or Cancel button) while turning the printer on.
- Continue holding the button until all the LEDs flash together, indicating that the cold reset is complete.
Default Passwords: Some printers come with default passwords. Common defaults include "admin," "password," or leaving the password field blank. Check your printer's documentation for any default credentials.
Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that address security issues and may include an option to reset the admin password. Visit the HP support website to find and install the latest firmware for your printer.
Remember to proceed with caution, especially when performing a cold reset, as it will erase all customized settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
