Hi @Rls1973,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset the password on an HP DeskJet 2700 series printer, you typically need to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that performing a factory reset will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer, so make sure you have a backup of important settings if needed.

Here are the general steps to perform a factory reset on an HP DeskJet 2700 printer.

  • Turn off the Printer: Make sure the printer is turned off.
  • Press and Hold Cancel and Wireless Button: Press and hold down the "Cancel" button and the "Wireless" button simultaneously.
  • Turn on the Printer: While still holding down the buttons from step 2, press the power button to turn on the printer. Continue holding down the buttons.
  • Wait for Indicator Lights: Keep holding the buttons until the power light and the wireless light start blinking simultaneously. This could take around 10-15 seconds.
  • Release the Buttons: Once the lights are blinking, release the "Cancel" and "Wireless" buttons. The printer will now be in factory reset mode.
  • Perform the Reset: After releasing the buttons, the printer will initiate the factory reset process. This might take a few minutes. The printer will restart during this process.
  • Set Up the Printer Again: After the reset is complete, the printer will be restored to its factory default settings. You'll need to set it up again, including connecting to Wi-Fi and configuring any other settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
