I have the same problem with my Envy 6055e
I purchased the printer over a year ago, and I do not seem to have any setup cartridges. Unfortunately, it is too late to return the printer, and I was hoping to get a link with instructions to reset my printer so I can use regular ink cartridges.
Or-- If there is a way to get SETUP cartridges, I can do that, too!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
The only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hi. I have the same issue on my HP ENVY PHOTO 7855. I bought it for my husband 2 years ago and he's just now setting it up. However, we only have the color setup cartridge and have lost the black one. I purchased a standard black one but the printer still won't bypass the "Use SETUP cartridges" error. Please help me, too. Thanks!

To initialize the printer, install standard replacement cartridges and then override the error indicated by the blinking ink level lights.
- Check to make sure the printer has printed no pages. If the printer has printed any pages, including alignment pages, then it has been initialized and this document does not apply.
- If the customer has only one working SETUP cartridge, install that cartridge. The printer initializes in single-cartridge mode. The trade override procedure is not required.
- If no working SETUP cartridges are available, install standard replacement ink cartridges in place of the SETUPs.
- If the customer has standard replacement ink cartridges on hand, install them, and then make sure to send a set of standard replacements to replace the customer’s stock.
- If the customer does not have standard replacements on hand, send a full set, and then share the remaining steps in this document to prevent a callback.
- An E0 error displays, that the light bar is amber and the ink door and ink cartridge lights blink, indicating an error. A Use Setup Cartridges software message may also display. If no error occurs when standard cartridges are installed, then the printer has already initialized, and this document does not apply.
- Perform a trade override to initialize the printer with standard cartridges:
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Press and hold the Wireless button for at least three seconds.
- Close the ink cartridge access door. An alignment page prints, indicating that the printer has initialized.
- If the printer does not initialize, repeat the trade override procedure until it does.
Hope this helps!

Hi @DoubleLiveGonzo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet Pro 9015 printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?
While you respond to that, we have to perform a Trade OOBE Reset to fix the issue and the reset instructions are specific for your printer, and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
