Hi @Gab555,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 printer is not being recognized by Windows when connected via USB, here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Check USB Connection:

  • Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Try using a different USB port on your computer.
  • Use a different USB cable if one is available, as cables can sometimes be faulty.

Device Manager Check:

  • Open the Device Manager on your Windows computer.
  • Look under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" to see if your printer is listed.
  • If there is an exclamation mark or the device is not listed, there may be an issue with the driver.

Update or Reinstall Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Soft Reset:

  • Disconnect the printer from the power source and USB connection.
  • Wait for about 2-5 minutes and then reconnect both the USB and power cable.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
