Where do I start? Owned this printer for about one month and here's how it works:
- Multiple times a day I need to UNPLUG It to refresh it or restart it -- as the POWER BUTTON DOESN'T WORK
- Sometimes I can scan from my iPhone HP app...but most of the time scan never works on printer itself
- Display often goes dark while blue power buttons appear on - nothing happens when I touch the screen. So I have to...see #1...UNPLUG
- Tried using HP's online support center from this Q&A, but a BLANK BROWSER Page opens on my Mac OS
- btw, this forum only lists operating systems up to 12.0 Monterey -- I'm on 15.3 SEQUOIA
- The email shortcuts I've set up don't work for scan
- Tried updating drivers....DOESN'T WORK
- HP Embedded Web Server page continually refreshes and I have to keep entering my PIN. Annoying.
Anyhoo...first time buying an HP product myself and it ain't been great.

I have had the same experience as you with a new Envy 6100 printer. I have had good luck calling the support number and getting helpful agents. However, the problem continued until an agent made many changes and installed a universal HP print driver. I think the issue is fixed, but the printer is not working like my old printer in at least one app. 2 sided greeting cards now cause me to have to reinsert the paper where the old Envy was able to hang on to the paper and reverse it without me having to reinsert. I'm not sure what other apps may work differently since I just got it working yesterday. Give the support number a try. HP support is much better than it was a year or so ago. I also now don't see the icon for the Envy and it isn't listed as a printer in my printers and scanners settings.
Go on line and search for their support page where you can then sign up to have them call you...or you can try calling the number listed. Good luck. If the printer wasn't a gift, I would consider trying to return it....but my old printer is over 10 years old and I'm not sure another HP printer wouldn't be as troublesome.
