Officejet pro 8600 Plus

Trying to reinstall my Officejet Pro 8600Plus onto a new MacBook laptop and I'm being asked for an 'SW Helper password'

I have no idea what it is and I've tried various ones that I would have previously  used. How can I find out what it is or reset it??

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your MacBook is asking for a SW Helper password, I am g;ad to assist you.

This is a gatekeeper issue where your Mac Computer wants to make sure the software you're installing is safe for the system.

While installing the software package you need to allow in Security & Privacy System Preference to complete the install. Leave the System Preference open to complete the install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
