Hi @SSMatharu,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the Samsung SCX-4729FW printer might not have a dedicated driver for macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, as Samsung's printer division is now managed by HP. However, you can try the following steps to connect your printer:

1. Check Printer Compatibility

  • Confirm that the printer is compatible with macOS Sonoma.
  • Visit the HP support page to see if updated drivers are available for Samsung printers.

2. Install Samsung Print Driver (via HP Smart or Universal Print Driver) Software and Drivers for Samsung SCX-4729 Laser Multifunction Printer series

  • Download the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store.  HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
  • Alternatively, use the HP Universal Print Driver (if available for macOS). Look for "Samsung Print Drivers for macOS" on the HP support page.

3. Use AirPrint (if Supported) Set up the HP printer with AirPrint in macOS

  • Check if your SCX-4729FW supports AirPrint.
  • If supported:
    • Connect your printer to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook.
    • On your Mac, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click + to add a printer, and select your printer with AirPrint.

4. Manually Add the Printer

  • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click + to add a new printer.
  • Select IP at the top of the window.
  • Enter your printer's IP address, choose a protocol (e.g., HP Jetdirect), and add it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
