Hello there, I have recently bought a Surface Pro 11 (using windows 11) and was not able to connect my Samsung Xpress C460FW MultiFunction printer to my surface.
I have tried downloading the specific c460 drivers (for windows 11) and I always get error 0x800f0214. "The specific path does not contain any applicable device INFs"
I downloaded from the HP support site the basic driver -
Samsung Universal Print Driver for Windows
- V3.00.16.0101:01
A similar question was asked for a different printer and this appears to have been answered in a previous post but I do not have access to that reply.
Help would be appreciated, Thank you!

Hi @Intramania, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error 0x800f0214 ("The specified path does not contain any applicable device INFs") suggests that Windows is unable to find a compatible driver within the package you downloaded. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and install the Samsung Xpress C460FW printer on your Surface Pro 11 running Windows 11:
Steps to Fix the Issue:
Use Windows Built-in Printer Driver
Windows 11 includes a generic Samsung driver that might work:
- Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Click Add device → Wait for Windows to detect the printer.
- If it does not appear, click The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
- Choose Use an existing port (USB or TCP/IP).
- When prompted for a driver, select Samsung → Samsung Universal Print Driver (or similar).
- If it installs successfully, try printing a test page.
Manually Install the Driver
- Extract the driver package (Samsung Universal Print Driver) using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
- Open Device Manager (Press Win + X → Select Device Manager).
- Find your printer under Other devices or Unknown devices.
- Right-click the printer → Select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
- Click Have Disk... and browse to the extracted folder.
- Select the INF file and install.
Try the HP Universal Print Driver
If Samsung’s driver doesn’t work, try installing HP Universal Print Driver instead:
- Download the HP Universal Print Driver (PCL6) for Windows 11 from HP official site.
- Follow the same steps as in Step 2 (manual driver installation).
Use Windows Update to Install the Driver
- Go to Settings → Windows Update.
- Click Advanced options → Optional updates.
- Look for any Samsung printer driver updates.
- Install the driver and restart your Surface Pro.
Use Generic PCL Driver
- Repeat Step 2 (manual driver installation).
- Instead of selecting Samsung, choose Generic → Generic PCL6 Printer.
- This will allow basic printing functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
