Hi @HaikoJ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it is when your printer stops working after an update, especially when you just need to print something quickly. Let's go through some steps to get it working again.
1. Check for Compatible Drivers
- Samsung printers are now supported by HP, so check HP Support for updated drivers.
- If no official drivers are available for macOS Sequoia (15.3.1), try installing drivers for an earlier version like macOS Ventura or Monterey—they may still work.
2. Use AirPrint
- Go to: System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Select your Samsung CLX-3185 and check if AirPrint is available.
- If available, select it and try printing.
3. Reset the Printing System
- Go to: System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control + Click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Restart your Mac and re-add the printer.
4. Check for macOS Updates
- Go to: System Settings > General > Software Update.
- Install any pending updates and restart your Mac.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello,
Unfortunately, none of the four options worked.
I have the latest iOS version, 15.3.1.
I've tried some older driver versions, but even installing them fails. The system detects them as too old and won't use them.
Are there any other options?
Best regards,

Hi @HaikoJ,
Thank you for letting me know, it looks like the printer may not be compatible with the new version of IOS, as it's not tested, in this case, the best I would suggest is to try installing the HP Smart App and try if no,t you have to try a USB connection.
Use HP Universal Print App
- Since HP owns Samsung’s printer division, try HP Smart App from the App Store.
- Install HP Smart, add your printer, and check if it allows printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Unfortunately, neither works...
The printer only has a USB port.
All printer apps want to connect via Bluetooth or Ethernet...
It probably won't help, and I'll have to leave the old Mac behind... and buy a new printer sooner or later.
Thank you for your help!!!!
Best regards,
Haiko
