Dear HP Support Team,
I am a user of an HP printer (samsung M2070 series (SEC30CDA73413DC)) and have recently updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Sequoia 15.3.1. Since the update, I've been experiencing compatibility issues with my printer.
The error message I receive when trying to open the printer on my MacBook Pro is "The operation couldn't be completed. (WFbackgroundShortcutRunner-ErrorDomain error 0.)"
I've already tried resetting my Mac's printing system and re-adding the printer, but the problem persists. I'm hoping that HP can provide an updated driver to fix this compatibility issue.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your assistance.
Sincerely,

@Hamiltonster, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Samsung Xpress SL-M2070 Laser Multifunction Printer series

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Based on the HP driver support page, the latest available drivers for the Samsung Xpress SL-M2070 series are only compatible with macOS 13 and earlier versions. Unfortunately, macOS Sequoia (15.3.1) is not listed as a supported operating system yet.

What You Can Do:

Check for Updates Regularly

Try AirPrint (Built-in macOS Driver)

  • macOS often supports printers without additional drivers using AirPrint.
  • Remove the printer from System Settings > Printers & Scanners, then add it again.
  • If you see “Samsung M2070 AirPrint” or “Secure AirPrint,” select it and test printing.

Use Generic Printer Drivers

  • When adding the printer manually, try selecting Generic PostScript Printer or Generic PCL Printer under the "Use" option.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Dear HP Support,
While I am able to print documents using my HP printer, I'm encountering an issue with the scanner. The scanner portal is not opening, and I am unable to scan any documents.
Could you please provide assistance in resolving this issue so I can regain access to the scanner function?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

@Hamiltonster, Thank you for reaching out again — I’m glad to hear that the printing issue is resolved, but I understand how frustrating it can be when the scanner still isn’t working. Let’s try a few steps to get the scanner back up and running:

Try Using Image Capture:

  • Open the Image Capture app on your Mac (you can find it using Spotlight search).
  • See if your printer appears in the list of devices.
  • If it does, try scanning a document from there.

Remove and Re-add the Printer (Including Scanner):

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
  • Remove the printer from the list.
  • Add it back, but make sure to select Samsung M2070 AirPrint or Secure AirPrint if available — this should enable both printing and scanning functions.

Check HP Smart App:

  • If you haven’t already, try installing the HP Smart app from the App Store.
  • Sometimes the app helps bridge compatibility issues, especially with scanning.

Reset the Printing System:

  • If the above steps don’t work, you could try resetting the printing system again:
    • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
    • Right-click (or hold Control + click) anywhere in the list and select Reset Printing System
    • Add the printer back and test both printing and scanning.

Give these steps a try and let me know how it goes! If the issue persists, we’ll figure out the next steps together. 😊

Take care, and looking forward to hearing from you!
