I have a `Samsung Xpress M2026W laser printer. It has been working fine with (I think) a generic Samsung2020 printer driver. This week Apple delivered an up-date to the Sequoia OS  now v- 15.6.1

Now my printer does not print, and I think it's the driver. The "Print Centre" tells me the machine is out of paper, but it's not.

When I try to put the serial number into the Samsung or HP sites it says "NOT ALLOWED" or words to that effect.

Can someone point me towards a site where I might be able to access a printer driver that will make my laser work?

Thanks.

Hi @SunofSam,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Samsung Xpress M2026W driver issues on Mac OS!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check for Official Driver Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website and navigate to the section for downloading drivers. Although HP acquired Samsung's printer business, they provide support for these devices.
  • Enter your printer model (Samsung Xpress M2026W) to check for the latest drivers compatible with the most recent Mac OS version.

Use the HP Smart App:

  • HP offers the HP Smart App, which helps manage and set up your printer and might include solutions to update your drivers automatically. It's available through the Mac App Store.

Remove and Re-add the Printer:

  • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
  • Remove the existing printer by selecting it and then clicking the "minus" button.
  • Click the "plus" button to add the printer again. Check if there is a suitable driver available or if your Mac offers to use an AirPrint driver.

Try Using AirPrint:

  • Sometimes, the generic AirPrint driver can serve as an alternative if a specific driver for your Samsung printer is not available. When adding the printer, choose AirPrint as the driver option.

Reset the Printing System:

  • In "Printers & Scanners," right-click or control-click in the printer list and select "Reset printing system." This will remove all printers, and you might need to reinstall any printer drivers.

I hope this helps.
