Suddenly today the Scan Tile is not showing up when I open the HP app on my Mac. Tried Virtual Assistant and double checked that printer in on the network.  I still can't do a scan with the instructions because the Sacn Tile is not present where it used to be.

Hi @Rudimentman

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Got it — thanks for clarifying that the Scan Tile has disappeared from the HP app on your Mac. Before we dive into possible causes, I’d like to understand a bit more about your setup so we can narrow this down:

  • Which HP printer model are you using?
  • What macOS version is installed on your Mac?
  • Did the HP app itself recently update, or did your Mac receive a system update around the time this issue started?
  • When you open the HP app, do you still see other tiles (like Print, Supplies, etc.), or is it only the Scan Tile that’s missing?
  • Have you ever used the Scan Tile successfully on this same Mac before, or is this the first time it’s disappeared?

These details will help me figure out whether the issue is tied to the printer’s capabilities, the app version, or macOS compatibility.

Would you share those specifics with me?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
